go there and you will see ClearPageFileAtShutdown on the right double click that and change the one to a 0 and it will make your shutdown super fast!

Using Sticky Notes – Windows 7

You can use Sticky Notes to write a to-do list, jot down a phone number, or do anything else that you’d use a pad of paper for. You can use Sticky Notes with a tablet pen or a standard keyboard. To write a note using a tablet pen, simply start writing on the note where you want the ink to appear. To type a note, click where you want the text to appear, and then start typing.

To create a new sticky note

Open Sticky Notes by tapping the Start button . In the search box, type Sticky Notes, and then tap Sticky Notes in the list of results.

To create additional notes, click the New Note button.

You can also open a new note by pressing Ctrl+N.

Tip

To resize a note, drag an edge or corner of the note to make it larger or smaller.

To delete a sticky note

When you’ve finished using a note, you can delete it to clean up your desktop.

Click the Delete Note button.
In the Sticky Notes dialog box, click Yes.

You can also delete a note by pressing Ctrl+D.

Sticky Notes closes if you delete all of your notes. To create a new note, reopen Sticky Notes.

Where is My Network Places?

QUESTION:
I’m an old Windows XP user trying to assimilate the change to Windows 7. I can’t find My Network Places folder.

ANSWER:
You won’t find My Network Places, per se, in Windows 7 (or Vista). It’s been usurped by the much more robust Network and Sharing Center, which you’ll find in Control Panel and where you can perform all sorts of tasks and get information related to networking. However, if what you’re looking for is a list of shared resources on your network that you can connect to, you’ll find that by clicking “Network” on the Start Menu. If you don’t see “Network” there, then do the following:

Right click the Start button.
Select Properties.
Click the Start Menu tab.
Click the Customize button.
Scroll down the list and find “Network.”
Put a check mark in its box.
Click OK.

If you want to add a network connection, you do that in the Computer window. Here’s how:

On the Start Menu, click Computer.
In the right pane where the drives are listed, right click on an empty space.
In the context menu, select Add a Network Location.
Follow the steps in the wizard to create a shortcut to a network location.

How to stop Explorer from opening in the Libraries

If you want to change the default location for Windows Explorer to open (Libraries), here’s how:

Right click the Explorer icon on the taskbar.
Hold down Shift and right click the Windows Explorer icon in the Jump List.
Select Properties.
On the Shortcut tab, change the Target field to open to the location of your choice.
Click OK.

To change it to open to My Documents, change the Target field to:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /N,::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}

To open to any other folder, change to:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe folder path

Windows 7 has a much more aggressive firewall built in. And the added security that is on by defualt can also get in the way.

On Windows7 machines make sure that you have network discovery enabled along with file and printer sharing.

Open port 18086 inbound to the agent machine. Port 18082, 135, 139 and 445 need to be open for incoming and outgoing connection to the Vipre server. Note that port 139 and 445 are enabled by default if file and printer sharing is enabled.

If the system meets all these requirement you should be able to push deploy with no problems. As for installing with the MSI package the only thing i could see getting in the way is the User Account Controls. That being the case if you log on with and administrator account and then right click the MSI and run as an administrator it should succeed.
